Service Animals Only Allowed on Grounds

As part of our effort to provide a safe and healthy environment, to keep our staff, volunteers, and visitors protected while they are working or visiting our facility, we are following strict guidelines from the CDC and state authorities.

COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS and OPENING GUIDELINES:

There is limited, controlled, and guided access to our buildings. Access to small buildings will not be allowed however, the building’s interiors may be viewed from porches, doors, and windows. Access to larger buildings may be limited or restricted.

Masks or face coverings and six-foot social distancing guidelines are highly recommended inside any buildings.

We ask staff and guests to avoid visiting when sick or showing signs of illness.

We have added additional handwashing stations throughout the grounds. Alcohol-based hand sanitizer is also available at our reception and other areas for guests and staff.

A plexiglass barrier has been installed in our reception area to protect guests and staff.

Volunteers and staff are monitoring visitors as well as sanitizing and disinfecting surfaces that people touch frequently.

As we move forward during this uncertain time please note that these protocols are subject to change at any time and at the discretion of the administration of the Barberville Pioneer Settlement.

We look forward to your visit and anticipate that everyone will do their best to keep themselves and others safe and well.

The Central Barberville Schoolhouse Museum and the Astor Bridge Tender’s House are the main climate-controlled buildings. There are many shade trees, benches, and picnic tables around the grounds.

Most buildings are ADA accessible. However, the smaller buildings will remain roped off as we implement new protocols due to the health crisis.
